Some help for installing own rig

I finally got all my parts that i need for my new rig.. however, before i begin, i want to ask for some advice first for the following:

1. Installing CPU n cooler first, or mainboard into casing first: i have a cryorig R1 ultimate, msi 170A gaming pro carbon and a phanteks evolv enthoo casing

2. thermal paste application: the last time i installed my cooler many years ago was with e pea-drop of paste in e middle of cpu and then allow e cooler to spread e paste.. is it still e same or should i manually spread e paste first? i saw e installation video done by cryorig n it seems that they spread e paste first

3. PWM hub: e casing comes with a PWM hub, so should all my case fans and cryorig fans all run through it?

4. Windows 10 on old SSD: i have registered my present win10 account to my windows acct so that i can migrate it over to e new rig.. is it just plug n play or do i need online access to "activate" the windows 10? if so, will using a wireless adapter cause problems since i wont be able to log on to windows in the first place?

5. Front audio jack: i should be re-using my creative titanium HD soundcard in my new rig.. however, my present speakers do no have any audio jack where i can conveniently plug in headphones for late-night gaming when my kids are asleep. Hence, is it possible for me to enable the front audio jack of my phanteks casing when i want to use headphones with e soundcard?

Add one more - The Cryorig R1 is damn big and confirm will overhang over your ram slots. Install ram (and I hope you bought low profile ram...) before installing cooler.

No 1 no right no wrong. I install MOBO first before installing the HS. In another word, see which way u prefer.

Add one more - The Cryorig R1 is damn big and confirm will overhang over your ram slots. Install ram (and I hope you bought low profile ram...) before installing cooler.

should be ok.

if you forget and install cooler before ram, one trick is to unclip the fan from the cooler, install ram then clip fan back. much easier to just install ram first though

okay so far i have installed e mobo, cpu, cryorig, ram (thanks for e tip), 1 ssd n psu..

no cables connected yet (no time due to handling 2 young boys at home), but i do have a worry: when i was installing e cooler, i had difficulty in getting to e spring-loaded screw at e bottom, hence i had to turn n twist e cooler abit while it was seated on e cpu n thermal paste.. in e end i had to remove e 2nd fan to get to e screw..

will this affect e cpu temps due to e thermal paste being messed up? i did not lift up e cooler as i knew that if i did, high chance of more air bubbles right?

i guess only when everything is up n running then i can test.. what kinda temps should i be seeing at stock settings? mid 60s?

well depends on what application u do your stress test but i think mid 60s should be good. 70 is fine as well. just dun heat 80. but will u be OC or using stock speed to test?

i guess i will use stock first? and have e temps for cpus all gone up in general? my current cpu still holding at ard 47c at idle.. so a bit surprised when i read e temps of e new cpus which i thought will be cooler

as for temp taking software, is speedfan still reliable or got other better software liao?

47degC is on BIOS? Or some 3rd party program? If BIOS states 47degC then its fine.

47 deg seems like my intel stock cooler lowest temp lei.

can u try to download hwinfo and see the value again?

Ehh..wat i meant was my old cpu which i am using now.. my i5-750 ..i use speedfan n e temps r still at 47 to 48 deg at stock settings after over 5 yrs of use.. so i was just asking if e newer gen of cpu like e 6600k all run at higher temps

depends on how is your case airflow and the room venation. u can get ard 30+ degree to 40 in idle. but if u OC your 6600k your idle most probably around 40+ to 50 (depends on how u OC.)
