What is a sweet spot for vcore to OC till 4.6 on 4790k? I have tried the following to be stable:

[1] 46 on cores
[2] 44 on uncore (minimum cache?)
[3] 1.250v vcore
[4] 1.250v cache
[5] Manual
[6] Running at max temps 79 after 1hr Aida64
[7] What other options should I be concerned with on the UEFI?

I heard from others that it is better to set manual to adaptive after testing at manual, should I do it? Meanwhile what other places I should be tweaking at. I have disabled power saving options at the moment. Should I turn those back on once stability is tested okay?

u can refer to ocn forum and check the devil crayon thread can see wad other overclockers setting but that doesnt mean it will works for ur cpu.
u can ask them more advance question regarding the setting, i only know basic stuff.

leave ur uncore at default.
test your overclock core stablity first before touching uncore ratio and voltage.
u wont know what cause the crash when u overclock core and uncore at the same time without testing for core stability.

core > uncore
if wan hit higher core = mus sacrifice uncore. most pple leave it at default
but asus say stay within 300mhz within core frequency < but pple say performance difference is like nothing

nv let your vring voltage high than ur vcore
can try set vccin 1.9 first, if stable can lower if u wan ( ideal range 0.4-0.6 of vcore)
can try set cpu phase control to extreme and cpu llc to higher level think can improve stability.

enable iest and c states while using adaptive voltage means the voltage will drop when idle and save power. dont tink u wan ur cpu to run at high vcore and high temp when not really doing anything.

Yeah, was reading that for uncore try to get -500mhz max. Maybe I try to further tweak down vring further to see how it goes. Yeap I switched back to adpative with EIST and Cstate enabled.
