some questions about m.2 ssd

Hi, i got the WD SN750 SE, which is a pcie 4 ssd but running at pcie 3 speed

1. if i put the ssd in a pcie 3 slot, wld it still run at 3600mb/s or cut by half?

2. are heatsinks for these SSDs important and useful? will those cheap ones from china work as well?

1. The speed will not be cut in half.

2. Heatsinks are nice to have but not necessary.

BTW PCIe Gen 3, speed is around there at 3600mb/s
