Something wrong with my computer

Hi,

I have no idea how to tell what is wrong with my computer.

I have never encounter this problem before so i do not know how to troubleshoot.

On Wireless, im getting the roughly the same speed as im on wired.

This is my wired speed.



Im on VQ 300mbps plan. This shouldnt be the speed i am getting.

Im using Intel i217-V as ethernet adapter and wireless im using asus n53 and Asus RTn66u router.

My drivers are the latest, although i dont think its a problem with the network adapter nor the wireless dongle since both are getting roughly the same slow upload speed and slow download speed.

On my iPad i downloaded the speedtest app and ran it i was getting 130 download and 100 upload mbps on 5ghz.


So what is wrong? i do not know what to check...

Prob something wrong with the cables. Swap it out and try another and see if it helps.

dude, try using a direct cable connection to the modem not the router

But it doesnt explain the fact that my wireless im getting 1mbps upload right? Will try a direct connection tonight when im home

No difference between modem and router direct connections... wth.... i have no damn idea lol..

nvm i fixed it myself already guys. i changed windows 8.1 to windows 7. =p

This is likely a setting issue rather than with Win 8.1.
I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops running Win 8.1 without issue.

Look like your ASUS router is faulty.
