Sony Cyber-shot camera play button "damaged"?

As the title stated. I dont really know why but suddenly the "play" button is as seen in the picture. It is still functionable though but still...

Just bought this camera recently & it's warrenty is until 2016. If I went down to the Sony Service Centre to have the button replaced. Is it consider as "physical damaged" which I need to pay for it?
