Seems that Sony is controlling the market price, just like the Apple product.

Best bet would be - to pre-order from Sony Store @$1299/-, and you'll receive it at around 25th May 2012. Free from trouble by those Lucky Plaza or Sim Lim Tower style salesman; you won't get much bad buying experience.

Other retail shops - it all depends on your luck... I had some bad experiences before; those sales person will often divert your attention into buying another model, which is their favoutite modus operandi. So got to be very firm and careful.

according to reviews, difference between nex-5 and nex-5n is like night and day, nex-5 had software problems that had to be fixed and image quality was much less. also no touchscreen? not sure about the last one
