On its local website, I noticed that Sony has "thrown in" a free flip case worth $49.90 for the 3G version.

I guess Sony now realised that they need to make up for the difference of $50 discount they have marked down for the wi fi version.

Very tempting now....

I think the impending launch of the Samsung 7.7 inch tab this month may hvae been a factor.

Question now is what "extras" will Sony offer during SITEX?

I will most probably get the 3G version this weekend.

With the flip case being given free, this offer is even better than Sitex 2011.

In order to get the flip case for free when buying the tablet, you must be 'my sony' member first.

was just wondering if i had the converter for mini usb to normal usb and i connected an iphone cable, will it charge my iphone?

(then i can use my iphone as a wifi modem without a care in the world )

Seems like there is really quite limited amount of apps.

I think we can share experiences with widgets since all apps that runs on tablet is only enlarged version.

Beautiful widgets are not really that pretty on tablet.
Accuweather seems nice though.

Theoretically, you need to be a My Sony member to be entitled to the flip case.

I bought the 16gb 3G version for S$798.00.

I was given the 16gb sd card, a cleaning cloth, a USB data cable, top up $19.90 for a cradle as well as the flip case.

Initially, the sales man told me I have to a My Sony member to be entitled the flip case, but I told him only if I am given one, then I will buy. He checked with his boss and said ok.

The store I bought from is from MC2 at Suntec 2.

If you are not looking at ipad & want to buy android tablets then its worth considering.

If you like to play psx games with better compatibility, then this is the tablet to look for.

NEW Sony S Tablet 9.4" FULL BODY Invisible LCD Screen Protector Case Shield | eBay

Putting it on (requires soapy water) a bit tricky. But it covers almost the entire device and offers good protection. I don't even use a cover anymore.
