I test out the 1 ii selfies at Bugis outlet.. the selfie camera is potato ..

I believe the same goes to 5 ii too
Yea I tried it out at the same store too. Wasn't impressed either.
I don't take a lot of selfies but video calls have become more common these days so it's a shame the front camera isn't that good

You thought front camera is bad? Ok :s13:

I have not thought anyone would be too concerned about front camera, mostly is about main camera.

hi all, I'm looking for my second phone
And I'm interested in this coz I'm a sony mirrorless user

However as I know almost nothing about sony mobiles, is the reason for their extremely poor sales due to marketing or?

Nevertheless I'm interested but also wondered about case support. Are there any that supports lanyard?
Is still early I guess but for those who use other sony mobiles, if you run into any issues with choice for cases?

I've looked at other companies but it's kinda similar and this one seems really different

I'm not exactly a phone case lanyard user but I do think you probably have a good chance of finding one.
You should give it a try prior to committing.
For me, it's my 5th Xperia phone.

Thank you. By giving it a try, do you mean hanging out at the demo set:s13:

I think you are probably right on the poor marketing, given that many consumers do not know sony mobile phones aside from their gaming and TV products.

There are actually some phone cases that you can find online with lanyard hole. Shouldn't be too difficult to find around lazada or shopee. There is also a reputable local dealer for case and screen protector if you google for "mobilelite".

Just to let you guys know... The front camera sensor is from Samsung Exocell... Ditto for the 70mm one. Total same setup as xperia 1II. Quite sad when people said that selfie camera potato coming from Sony which is camera experts haha ~

The MVP sensor is the 24mm f1.7 sensor. So utilize it if possible.

If I'm not wrong next year flagship all cameras will utilize their own sensors.

I hope it is not because of manufacturing or shipping issues due to covid-19 that led to the compromises of using third-party hardware for their mobile line, while prioritising their own lens manufacturing capabilities for their camera ine and other contractual obligations.

Thank you for sharing. I currently have a zf2 while it is all that amazing and whatever, the weight is killing my wrist so I don't know how long term I'm holding on to it and I find no matter how "hot" flagship phones Are, the result of photography/cinematography looks exactly like that. Of a smart phone.. so I wondered if this will look a little more different and more similar to a7iii or if it's wishful thinking :D :D

Both Xperia 1II and 5II using different fingerprint sensor than Xperia 1 and 5. Works better and its together with power button back to Xperia Z5 Days, but different sensor too.

Something interesting. Xperia 1II uses high quality UFS 3.0 storage. I bet its the same used on 5II.

Are you on the 5 ii? Whats your take on the new phone? And what colour do you have?

Had no plans to upgrade to the 5ii but fingerprint sensor is super important for me especially with google pay, singpass and password manager apps. Is it worth to splurge 1.4k hahahaisss

I'm loving my Xperia 1II very much! The Xperia 5II is also very good. If design similar to Xperia 1II it will be very attractive to me. AND WITH THAT BATTERY CAPACITY CAN REALLY LAST WHOLE DAY

Yes, but haven't fully switch over as my main phone as my screen protector and stuff have yet to arrive. I have the black (safe color) and looks good. If you want to stand out probably other colors will work better. Phone feels very smooth with the 120hz refresh rate. Feels really good on hand, easier one handed operation due to the aspect ratio. Still trying out the photo pro mode, the normal camera app takes better picture than my sub standard knowledge on manual settings. Don't need the front camera, so no comments. Battery can last me the whole day.

Some cons i noticed, external sd card speed is somehow limited to around 35mbps. Volte is not working still. There's no face unlock feature (read online they follow stock Android 10).

Technically, it's not 1.4k, there's the bundled headphones and like some said shopping center vouchers. So more like 1.1k. And if you compare that to OnePlus 8T, similar specs, which costs $900(from shoppee OnePlus store), it's only $200 more for a more premium build.
