Doesn't look that pink to me. Darker tone.
Maybe like darker rose gold color.

I feel it is still towards pinkish but you may be right. Still, weird for guys to carry la, just like men who use iPhone don't usually take Rose Gold

Had been using the battery care so far, yesterday tried charging it to 100%, the SOT from 100 to 20 is just over 7hours. Should be able to hit 8hrs if continue using it until 10%.

Sony store bugis got demo set. The sales person say got 5g, but like unsure when he answered me. I also couldn't find the NFC shortcut in the pull down menu. Sales start on 17 Nov.

I got a bit sick of all these conflicting statements by the salespeople so reached out to Sony in writing.

Thay said that the phone does not meet the Singapore service operator's detailed network specification requirement to officially launch as a 5G model. (Probably why they have removed any 5G references from the Singapore specific page).
However, the phone will support NSA (non standalone) 5G bands but not SA (standalone) 5G bands apparently.

I've been trying to figure out what this means from a Starhub/Singtel point of view as it does seem like both do have NSA 5G networks.

I see, so the hardware and software supports 5G, but doesn't support some bands required by IMDA so not listed as a 5G phone.

The Google button is actually flushed with the sides, so it actually isn't as problematic as I thought it would be.

The missing nfc from the drop down quick access is an inconvenience. As for 5g, I'm not sure why it's not supported locally although the 5g bands supported by the phone is the same as what local Telco supports. I believe it's something that Telco has to work out, not so much the phone manufacturer side.

I always leave my NFC on so the NFC icon missing is not an issue. I think the fingerprint sensor and power button combined into one is actually very convenient, can touch the sensor to unlock the phone to tap, then press in to lock the phone again in one motion.

Yes, the power button with the fingerprint is god sent. Glad they returned to their original z design for this.

So if one were to buy this phone, I guess the only sales channel is SONY store themselves? And best possible outcome is to buy at CAPITALAND malls so to get CAPITASTAR points for voucher? And sell off the headphone bundle.

As checked export set prices not too much difference...

Just curious - what made you decide not to get the phone?
I've been on the fence on this one for a very long time

Sent from Samsung SM-G973F using GAGT

Sorry for my late reply. It has to do with the availability and not the phone itself. I needed a phone urgently as my phone camera lens was faulty and phone is also not new.

If I could have waited, I would have continued on this Sony. I trust in the brand name for I have a line of lenses and camera by then.

My own conspiracy theory is since they are King in the mirrorless category, they are reluctant to cannibalise their cam sales by good marketing on their sony phones but well who knows.

Why never consider xperia 1II? Too big size for you?
