Haha yeah quite long. But you can use it to watch videos / surf web etc while updating and only restart when prompted ~

Definitely fixed! Later I will post pictures taken by the new firmware. Also I think they totally enabled AI super resolution even if you set to standard digital zoom... I couldn't see any difference between the digital zooms...

But do take note that the telephoto sensor is not as good as the main 24mm sensor but I believe it is better than the xperia 1III telephoto sensor because the ISO can reach 1600 compared to ISO 1000 on the xperia 1III the telephoto sensor.

Phone 100% charged. Brightness set to maximum (manual). Turned on Strava and bluetooth connected to WF-1000XM4 playing music. Phone begin to warm a little.

ISO 400 DRO auto. From this picture here you can see quality drop a little when I boosted ISO to 400. Usual with good sunlight the ISO auto usually goes to only 32.

During my shootings at the testing part, the phone only heats up and its applications/ other shooting modes did not shut down, which is already a huge improvement compared to initial firmware test, but its display auto adjusted and dimmed to around between 400-600 nits after I turned camera on for between 30 seconds to 1 minute. Meaning shooting carry on as normal in a dimmer display. After I turned off camera the phone display resumed brightness (max manual, standard 60hz) in about 15-20 seconds.

This is the killer move. Its my first time trying out HDR continuous shooting high (currently only this Xperia has it. Do not know if the Pro-I has it?). Shoot to around 3-10 images per burst, 9 sets of bursting and the camera gave temperature warning and auto shut down. The heat generated should be damn high and intense . Only after about 10-15 seconds am I able to turn back on the camera. Squirrels were staring at me while waiting to cool down haha. The rest functions of the phone functions normally which is good.

Overall I am still happy that the camera did not give warning so early and auto shut down like my initial test. It can still shoot in all conditions besides this HDR burst as well as the dimmed brightness.

Strava map did not gone haywire. Reached home left with 59% battery life. Whole journey is around 3 hours

imo they really need to fix the heat issue. camera can improve but if user experience is compromised by the display dimming, warning signs, auto shutdown, etc. that's enough to turn me away...

Yeah. Even iPhone 13 pro with their bionic also heats up and dimmed the display.
Check this video of the speed test you can see iPhone dim their display because of overheat.



Hope Sony get a better processor made from TSMC instead of Samsung and hope they focus on cooling so as not to affect the display as well for better user experience.

At 85mm,i felt the photos are good.
At 125mm, I would felt as okay ..

Today, push the camera with photo and videos taking also. I will try to see how to upload images and videos.

Today weather wasn't that sunny but still abit warm. I was taking photos and videos, the phone overheats and shut down the camera ,think it was about 5 -6 mins usage? (Did not time so an estimate). During around 8 pm, manage to record around 2min plus video, 4k 120fps setting, the overheating warning came out but still can continue to record. I stop at 3 mins 20sec. Not sure how far more I could record with it.

By the way, what phone cover does you all use with ur phone ? Not sure if the cover also affect the hear dispersement ...

My case is the basic transparent without top cover. Display protected by tempered glass.

I just found out if I have seamless zoom, it will drop the frame rate to 4k 30fps. Hmm. Then hard to reminder which can use or cannot use. Lol. ...
