Was actually set on getting the S22 Ultra before I saw the news today. Now I am torn. Any advice to help me make a decision? Currently using a S9+ and definitely changing my phone before going on holiday in June. So assuming the 1iv is released early-mid June, I have a tough decision to make.

By the way did Sony announce how many years of updates they will commit to?

2 OS uodates 3 years security.

Ask yourself if microsd and headphone jack is important to you. Or does the s pen speak to you more?

In any case the s9 can hold on for vacation shots.

I'm just happy that they continued with the same naming convention i.e. Xperia 1M IV, else it makes them look lost each time they rebrand the flagship.

Sent from Sony Xperia 1iii!
Yes I'm glad too.

As for the heater processor, Sony please cool it proper! From the video of Tony Northrup can see sunlight legibility. Glad it score well placing side by side with Samsung galaxy 22 and iPhone!

But the S9 battery life cannot hold up for more than six hours tops, especially if I'm using the camera and Google Maps a lot

You can consider replacing the battery at a repair shop.

I've used literepair several times for this purpose, their main branch at 176 does a decent job within a few hours. Around 50$

I've changed it once a few months ago at one of those shops and there was no difference at all unfortunately, wasted my money and a trip down.

i think if a person wants to point n shoot at a heartbeat, n still wants a beautiful pic... best to avoid this phone.
now ppl usually upload to social media... which now almost all flagship phones can do the trick.

i think....
if 1 person point n shoot with AI processing vs sony fine tuning 1 at a time...
most likely AI phone will win.
