SOS please! Regarding note 2

Hello guys,

I have just bought my note 2 in pink and have noticed that my phone option shows ALL logs including my calls and messages. I have tried to change it to only display my call logs but the changes doesn't stick.

I used to own the phone in white but i have never encountered such an issue, in fact I don't think there was a setting given for me to change the view of the logs I wish to see. It just displayed only the calls logs in the phone option.

This is extremely annoying to me and I know there is an app out there to resolve this but I thought it's ridiculous to have to use an app to get this fixed.

Does this happen to anyone? Could it be the firmware version my phone is on or a different version of the phone I'm using, i really have no clue.

I just bought this phone 2 days ago and if this is an isolated case, I will return to Singtel to have my set exchanged.

Can someone be so kind to advise me please?

Apparently there is no way to permanently set to only show call log. Just download the Samsung Log Converter to show only call log.

thank you beyonder however what i don't understand is that my previous note 2 didn't encounter such issue even though it has also been upgraded to the latest firmware. i'm not sure why it did with the pink note 2 and whether it's only happening to my phone.

hi cheryl, YES, not sure wh and I got the s3 before note 2 and it also didn't have such problem. I encountered this only with my pink note 2. oh another thing is, does your pink note 2 has problems with the Google images? Sometimes when i search for an image and tried to click on the thumbnails, it does not open the image at all. I tried with the stock browser and dolphin browser, both also can't open the image thumbnails sometimes. i have to close the tab and reopen again for it to work. dunno if it's with the phone again.

Try access the call log screen again and use the Back button to return to the home screen and check if the call log only setting still stay. If yes, share your build number. Maybe it is due to different firmware install that cause the different behaviour.

I was actually asking cheryl81 to do the test since she said that her's doesn't show all logs.

Your build is the same as mine. It is either a bug or a feature for Samsung phones.

I see, thanks a lot. BTW, does your phone also encounter issues with google images? sometimes the thumnbnails can't open for some reason. have to close the browser and reopen for it to work again.

Seldom use the build in browser. Do you encounter the thumbnails issue when on home wifi?

the images thumbnails don't work on any browser i use be it on home wifi or on 3G. doesn't work on stock browser, and not even on dolphin. i never had such issue with my white note 2 and with the same build version i think i probably got a 'bad' phone set man. i think i might go do an exchange with singtel tomorrow.

anyways, my concern now would be the image thumbnails. it's annoying having to close the whole browser and reopen again just to make the thumbnails work. i have googled and can't seem to find any issues raised regarding this. Besides this, my 3G also doesn't connect at times and it only connects when i change the networkj to 4G/LTE. i assume i got a defective set and will try to do an exchange with singtel and see how.

Oh, so u dl an app for this huh...

Anyway, u mention that u change the setting to display calls only, though I'm not sure how u do it, perhaps i can share what I do to display calls only in the log (w/o any 3rd party app invlv)...

--->open your phone app
--->go to your logs
--->bring out the menu by touching bottom left of phone
--->you should see some options there, choose 'View by', more options available & that should customize your desire display
