Motherboard brand/model? HDD brand/model?
Using USB 3.0 as the connection? Does it have esata connection?
Can you try plugging into a USB2.0 port instead?

My RAID 1/0 enclosure has issues with the USB3.0 (Etron USB3.0 controller)
