Sorry to hijack thread but I just want to ask a simple question so I don't want to create a brand new thread for it.

Asus ROG onboard sound card or their dedicated sound card better?

Buy the latest on market lo haha... you may not have enough slot for ZXR but not sure it can be used without the D card.

you mainly use it for gaming or music?

my speakers is harman kardon sound sticks 3

i roughly read reviews. creative no more good?

I'm using a Xonar DX... To me, sound quality is sufficiently different to be able to be discerned by untrained ears :)

Also, I'm using HKIII. It's sufficient for my purposes.

I transitioned out of T3 because of the infamous controller issue, and didn't want the risk.

I think just getting the Soundblaster Z is sufficient. Just got mine, really happy with it especially in games with the dedicated headphone amp :D

if you are comparing to ROG Xonar Phoebus, of cos the ROG onboard chipset will not be able to fight.

But comparing with other sound card need to check the respective spec and what chipset they are using and most important, is our subjective ears.

:)
