Hey, just wondering does on-board sound cards produce sound? Or I require external speakers to have sound? :s22::s22::s22:

You will need an external speakers or headphones to hear sound from either sound card or on board sound.

Onboard sound and sound card is a form of device component that creates sound signals before leaving to the external equipments.

Hope its as layman as it is.

Coz your speakers r already crap to begin with? For good music playback coming out from PC audio, 60% of it depends on your speakers, 30% depends on your file format, 10% depends on your DAC quality (i.e. DAC chip on your soundcard). For gaming, how good the gaming audio is depends mainly on how good the software audio encoding on the game is. Essentially if u dont even have good speakers to begin with, ur external soundcard is white elephant.
