737 cvr/fdr have RIPS, independent backup power for up to 10mins even in a total power failure.

unless CBs are pulled.

The 737NG was designed before battery backups form FDR/CVR were required by the FAA. When the FAA required them, they didn't mandate that it be retrofitted so since this plane was built before the FAA mandate, it does not have battery backups for the FDR/CVR, this means that in the event of a total loss of AC power there is no power for the recorders.

I suspect South Korea tampered with the flight data and cockpit voice recorders.
They announced this BEFORE they send the black boxes to US for analysis.
Why?

To save face.
To hide the truth so that South Korea image is not tarnished.
To prevent the truth from being detected, so that South Korea will escape financial compensation.

According to the timeline released by Korean authority. The plane still had power to the radio in the last 4 minutes before crash.

8.59am Pilot reported bird strike

9.00am pilot requested to land on runway 19

9.01 am air traffic control authorises landing on runway 19

9.03 am plane crashed into embarkment

Question : why no information about the communication between pilot and ATC being revealed?? Like zero report on this.
