Most of the time is cable. Check cable.

If cable is working fine, then it's the cable ports on the speaker.

This static/buzzing sound is common in cheaper consumer 2.1 systems.

Can hear it even I remove all cable...if I connect the cable link to left speaker, both got that sound. Not loud but damn annoying when quiet...only when power off then no sound

Quite different, original is adapter plug with cable...the replacement is like laptop brick type. Original is 20A, replacement is 19A

And let me guess, the replacement is thought to be better because it is heavier and has a higher current rating

The speaker company included that model because it works with their speakers. Using other power adapter is not guaranteed to give the same amount of noise performance, unless you are sure of the replacement psu's performance.

It is quite light although look like a brick. Output is 1A lower than original :(

Had the same hissing noise with my 10 year old VS4121. A precision twist on the 3.5mm header on the back of the motherboard instantly solve the issue. I couldn't be sure if it was due to the cable as didn't tried purchasing a new cable. And I had it on the same power strip as the power supply and monitor plug on top of a homeplug passthrough.
