Been paying $26++/mth as ST Online subscriber but since 1/7 after the new ST look launch, i've not been able to read ST online successfully EVERYDAY. SUCKS MAN!!!!
I've been accessing it using IPad Safari browser all these times and prior to 1/7, no problem at all, reading ST in the morning has always been an enjoyment but from 1/7 onward, it's only NIGHTMARE and TORTURE. It does this EVERYDAY or EVERY ATTEMPT to read the paper: load blank pages and/or crashes and shut my access out showing the stupid page saying no multiple access allowed. Hey hello ST, I didn't try to do multiple access, merely trying to read the paper but your unstable apps and yet dare to claim that I'm doing multiple access!!
Even MRT so unstable also won't breakdown everyday but ST Online breakdowns EVERYDAY, topped MRT in terms of unreliability and poor performance. Excellent work by SPH team!
I reported/feedback twice to them of the above problems as still experiencing and for both times all they did was to tell me clear my browser cache and ensure i've sufficient system memory. Told them i've no issue with system memory and had also tried clearing browser cache prior to contacting them but doesn't help resolve the problem. Told SPH tech support during the 2nd report that maybe they should try checking the apps exception handling program since it crashes so often and guess what? The tech support asked me what is exception handling????!!!!!!!!
An IT tech support doesn't know what is exception handling??????!!!!!!!! can faint. So now I know where SPH IT folks level is - they only know how to tell people to clear browser cache, this is all they can do. Gees................
The tech guy said will call me but 2 weeks passed and still no response from them. I didn't expect them to call too after knowing they're not capable of solving problem at all.
Maybe I'm the only person having such problem with ST Online so that's why SPH team also don't bother to look into it. But to me SPH has already done a bad job of implementing a non working/unstable application without doing any testing and employed useless people whose tech knowledge is only limited to asking people to clear web browser cache.
