Hi bros

One of my hard disks in "My Computer" looked different today, didnt have the bar indicating the storage space, just Local Disk. Tried to open it but it gave me the error "Drive is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect" so I proceeded to use chkdsk on it. I think it cleared out the whole drive(fallout 4 data gone:sad:) as when I open it it says it is empty but the storage is 905/931 GB free. I dont use it as my boot drive, more like a secondary one. So anyway just wanted to ask does this mean the drive is about to fail? Think I got this sometime back in late 2013. Its WD Blue btw. Thanks guys

You can run the extended SMART test and if it fails, send for RMA.

Run hdtune see if any warnings. Checkdisk full scan takes a long time. If dont need the data, faster to zero fill

Hi guys thanks for the replies so far.

I used the WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics to run a quick test and it couldnt complete, SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: FAIL
Test Error Code: 06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!

Dont really know what it means, but does this mean the disk is faulty?
