Spoilt HDD

hi all ,

how do you guys clear your spoilt HDD ?

previously before covid , i rem there is one guy from local u want the spoilt hdd....can't rem i sell or give away...but he will come down collect..

so just wonder what is the current thread?

remove then destroy the head array
remove the pcb and throw away (different container from head array)
remove the platters and use as mirrors
keep the magnet, never know when you will need it.
body can be used as ash tray hahaha

if you are paranoid and want to be sure, my friend works in a company that destroys hdd by first degaussing then punching 4 holes into - leave 4 big holes in all the platters. this service is used by govt and other security conscious companies. pm me if you want to explore this option.

what magnet can be used for? i can only think of fridge magnet

usually i just cut the pcb paths & smash the chips
