S'pore HR Institute Degree Course

Hi Forumers,

I am thinking of taking up a 1 year degree course (HRM with Finanical Mgt) with SHRI. Is it good?

Why don't you try applying for Unisim's Bachelor in HRM? IMO, 1 year is kinda fast.... unless it is taken full time and the modules are heavy. Then again, heard of the inst to be good by some of my friends, recognition wise - not too certain...

UniSim 3 years, somemore no credit exemptions even if you studied HRM Diploma (policy started in Jun 2011)....

That is correct, there are no more exemptions given.... it's up to the individual to make the choice, but you must really ask around and try understand better the industry's perception (fellow friends, colleagues, professionals in HR) on the recognition of the different HRM degrees from the various institutions.... it's quite a grey area when it comes to recognition.....

I agree. Some say shri no good some say ok. I intend to study 1 more certificate course to supplement this degree. To cover the modules that are not coverrd in the degree. The cert course take 9 mths. So all in all take abt 2 yrs. Same, but with this degree hope can find a better job faster after 1 year. U know what I mean? Save time lah

True, it's better to be awarded with a degree earlier, but you must also be sure that the knowledge you will acquire and the degree itself will help you land a good job. Sometimes an additional 1 or 2 years could mean a lot of difference. Anyways good luck with pursuing your desired degree programme @ SHRI

Kaplan Murdoch offers Bachelor in commerce in HRM - accredit also with our SHRI, 16 months intensive programme, bridging module is accounting, can consider if you like.

I am surprised you don't even know "Mr Know It All" and for the record, HR is not all about recruitment only!!
