I am thinking of learning to play squash. Can anyone suggest a good inexpensive racket for a newbie?

I believe prices start at about $50. They go up to $200+ for the upper range ones. The thing is the lower range rackets, you will grow out of it pretty quickly as you improve. So I'd advise you to (according to affordability) perhaps go for at least the medium range ($100 and above).

If used rackets are an option, I have a HEAD CYANO 115. It is the top end model of the latest range from HEAD. I have used it once and I do not like it as it is too light for my preference. It's 115 grams unstrung weight and strung with Technifibre 305. The racket retails for over $200 and in Queensway, $170. The strings itself costs another $25. I am looking to sell off at $140 if you are interested. I can be reached at 98292777.

There are actually social groups which you can join and there's no need for membership. Just pay as you play - $5 or so per session. They play at Kallang and Yio Chu Kang mainly. You can check them out in meetup(dot)com /Squash-Singapore and /squashsocialnetwork/
