squishy space bar after liquid spill

accidentally spilled some water on my space bar and bottom half of the keys

immediately took out all cables and turned it upside down

laptop (macbook pro 2015) is working fine luckily


not sure if i am confident enough to take out the keys to clean them

i live in london so should i bring it to apple genius bar? (obviously wont tell them about the liquid as it would void my warranty?)

keyboard works ok but just the space bar is a bit squishy / sticky.
do you think they can fix it on site?

Get it checked out ASAP. Liquid may have seeped through to the logic board below. Once there is water contact, corrosion sets in, your laptop may work fine for the moment, but it might fry soon.

I just rescued my own macbook air from water spillage (I hope!). It was initially fine, so I didn't think to look further than just wipe off the spill and turn it upside down, but the laptop shut down by itself 4 hours later, even though it was plugged in. When I opened up the casing, there was already visible corrosion and water droplets on the board. If you're not confident about dismantling your MBP, get it to the Genius Bar for a full check up sooner rather than later.

can there be delayed damage to the logic board?

i read that there is a piece of plastic below the keyboard that might prevent liquids from reaching the logic board?

Its just a bracket to prevent droplets from seeping thats all. if you literally spill on it, theres nothing you can do.

All mac machinery are equipped with LSI (liquid sensitive indicator), if LSI is activated your warranty is voided be it you like it or not. However, I have heard of apple closing one eye but please don't push your luck if you aren't given the privilege..

To be honest, you can only change the keyboard, trackpad and examine if your logic board is affected. water corrosion takes a few weeks to months to surface out depending on the pH of the liquid. For your case, its almost close to 100% that your LSI is activated since apple places the LSI at multiple locations.
