Vickers have 30% for etf till end of month. Their commission is 0.28% online vs cimb 0.275%. So good deal if you can deal these two weeks. I liquidating my unit trust now and plan to switch next week once money back in srs.

which plan are you vested in ?
POSB invest saver? SRS not accepted leh

i want to buy STI ETF, but the min brokerage charge is crazy. if just buy like 1 or 2 lots with SRS
you need to buy like 1000shares to make it worth your while.

i bought STI etf and CIMB dividend etf with my srs. if you want to buy and hold for long term, might as well put there.

also another tip... always make sure you make 30k a year at least then put some money there.

e.g. if you put srs money in jan and suey suey u get retrenched in feb and YTD income is less than 30k, there is no tax savings at all if suey suey u cannot find job for the rest of the year.

hence for contribution to srs and cpf sa, always make sure there are tax savings when u hit a certain income ytd, else there is no benefit at all.

but sti etf also have downside right? market seems to be down and it will follow to right?

Or is it like no matter market condition they will provide dividend of 6% still?

of course there is risk... put it this way, at least you are not buying at the highs at this level, plus u r holding till 60+, I assume u r not that old... so chances are it will grow.

I used my SRS fund to buy STI ETF one year back. So far it is down 15% and the dividend is pity. :s22:
