ssd as thumbdrive

does anyone use either msata ssd or 2.5" ssd as a thumb drive? cos highspeed&highcapacity thumbdrives sg sandisk extreme 3.0 64gb thumbdrives cost about 90 bucks and if u buy a used 128gb ssd, typically about 100 bucks, so for the extra 100-90=10 bucks u get 128/64=2 times the storage space and similar fast speed, while the only tradeoff is size, while connectivity is not an issue since can use those cheap cables i.e. those one-end-is-usb,-the-other-end-is-sata- those kind of cable to connect the ssd externally to the computer's usb port.

haha just use lor... best if you get a case for it... it'll be like an external hdd, which is big and bulky compared to a thumb drive...

It's not practical. USB 3.0 ports are not ubiquitous yet. Plus the size of the SSD is a big factor, along with the clunky cable.

usb2.0 speed: 25mb/s
sata2 speed: 300mb/s
