I am having some problems trying to set up Intel RST SSD caching on my new Win 7 installation.
SSD caching is used to accelerate my old 256GB HDD with a 64GB SSD.
Normally I go to Intel RST software and click "Accelerate" . On the BIOS RAID screen it would normally show the SSD setup as a cache device and the HDD as "accelerated". This was how it appeared in my previous Windows 7 installation.
With new Win 7 installation it has stopped working. When doing the setup using Intel RST everything shows fine - i.e. I press "Accelerate" and it shows the HDD is accelerated and the SSD is setup as a cache device. However when I restart the computer the BIOS shows the Accelerated HDD as "Disabled" and it goes into a "No System Disk Found" error.
To solve the problem I have to press "Ctrl I" to go into the RAID menu, and remove/disable the acceleration setup, reset the SSD to normal from cache device, and enable the HDD. Windows will boot normally from the HDD then.
Any ideas how to solve this problem? Formatting and reinstalling Windows again did not work. Updating Intel RST drivers did not work. Updating SSD firmware did not work either. Mobo and BIOS firmware are latest.
