SSD high nand writes?

Hi everyone,

I had gotten a Intel 530 240GB SSD recently. My daily NAND writes seem to be fairly high >15GB, as monitored through Crystaldisk Info and SSDlife reports a life expectancy around 8 years.

Is the amount of data written considered high, as of now I use the com for internet, listening to mp3 and some light streaming of shows only (IE11). Videos, pictures and music files are not stored on another HDD.

Currently using Windows 7 SP1,
- Trim enabled
- Disabled automatic defragmenting
- Disabled System Restore
- Page file size set to 1024mb
- Disabled Hibernation
- Disabling Memory Dumps
- Disable SuperFetch
- Disable Indexing
- Disable Reliability Monitor
- Microsoft Security Essential installed

SSD is aligned properly as shown by AS SSD on the top left corner as ok. Notice yesterday that my Total NAND Writes increased by 16GB when the Total Host Write increased by 3GB.

normally i would recommend disable page file.
if you use internet download manager, the downloading is done on ur C: drive by default

Thanks but I saw that thread already, but no explanation was given. I know there's quite a lot of people who bought the intel 530 at amazon, but I guess they don't read the thread here.

My Intel 530:

My writes are quite high i think but i think its because i have been installing quite a few games on my disk that's why. Used almost half of my SSD already.

Anyway how do i know how much life left on my ssd?

For ssd life, you can use go SSD life - tool for solid state drives health and endurance monitoring
Do note that ssd life is an estimation, your drive may be able to last longer than what that program says.

This is correct. Usually the SSD should outlast the readings, so just use it and not be troubled by it.

Also, do check if your rig is SSD optimized in the first place. I disable pagefile and also the Windows backup. The backup actually results in very high writes since almost everytime you install something, it will do a backup which can easily sap up gigs of space.
