Hi folks, not sure in the midst of the increasing ram prices, if you noticed that SSD prices are also going up? Went to look for a 256GB SSD yesterday, and noticed that some of the popular brands seem to have gone up in price, especially the 240 - 256GB models. Not sure if this is consistent with others' observation. Most price list shows "OFFER", instead of the price to conceal this increase, until you go and ask for the price. :s22:

I do feel that the price increase is pretty steep. Taking Plextor M5P Xtreme 256GB drive as a gauge, when I last check about 2 weeks back, it was going close to 260 or so, lowest I found. This week, it went past 300 bucks. Increase is north of 15% in this case. :s22:

Stay put if no urgent need to buy.

Bro, hope you are well man. Anyway, prob was I sold my desktop preparing to get a laptop, so was looking around for an SSD. Timing is really bad. Haha.

bought mine $255 a month ago, now going for $310, why go up ar?

Should be a combination of increasing ram prices and increase in demand of NAND. With a whole line of new products coming up on traditional PC and smartphones/ tablets, I am not surprise demand for NAND should be going up.

Did not track the prices abroad, but last check on Amazon recently shows that the prices of say Plextor M5P is quite consistent. Samsung and OCZ are still too pricey locally.
