SSD pro lai!!

Im looking for a new SSD. right now using a crucial m500 120gb but sadly not enough srsly.. im planning to get another one but does the brand or the storage matters? like can i get intel 530 240gb or it will be better if i take another crucial m500?

Btw, what is RAID?

Most commonly seen in the market nowadays will be RAID0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0). It is advisable to get the same drive if you're doing RAID, although mixing drives of different capacity and manufacturer can still work, but it is not optimal (both performance and reliability wise).

You can consider Samsung 840 Evo, Plextor M5S, Plextor M5 Pro, Intel 530 or SanDisk Extreme II.

You can read up about RAID here. In short, it is used to ensure the continuity of data access in case of physical HDD failure.

Just sell ur M500 and get Intel 530 240GB from any of the fellows that gotten the amazon deal @ $149USD.

don't bother about Samsung 840.. they are using TLC which writing speed is abysmal.

sell it? sell how much sia plus idk where i can sell it away. My OS all this installed on my current SSD and i dont have the disc. so i was thinking get a new one will be better and less troublesome.

Why bother selling his M500 away? He is bound to make a loss no matter what. Might as well just continue to utilise it and get another bigger capacity one. As such he can gauge the optimal capacity he requires, who knows 240GB may still not be enough for him after all? He should only sell it if 240/256GB deemed sufficient.
