You will hoot Samsung 950 pro m.2 512GB or Samsung Evo 850 1tb?

1. Samsung m.2 performance really that fast?
2. Or storage is more important for day to day usage?
3. Any speed different compare to the one I'm using right now(evo 850 250gb)

Price base on amazon.

1. M.2 got sata and pcie. Fast one is m.2 pcie. Sata speeds not any different
2. Storage just see how much space you need to store those files
3. 950 would be significantly faster (on benchmarks) but realife usage 850 is still very relevant. As for 1 TB, no performance advantage

Speed wise, cannot compare a m.2 pci-e x4 SSD in full mode against a SATA based SSD. One heaven one earth: visible difference on boot speed.

Evo can't even get close to its Pro cousin, but just ok if you only use it as a mass storage.

Unless one is transferring large files for majority of system usage, performance difference is imperceptible.

For everyday usage, one should look at the 4K transfer benchmarks.

I transfered a 1.63gb file from my MX100 512gb ssd (OS) to my 950 Pro 512gb via m.2 adaptor, and gave me speeds of 2.26gb/s... Literally transfered in 1s...

But, no diff in daily life usage.

Using 950 pro. Got to say i enjoy the transfer speed.

Using it to put into hot swap bay ssd. Putting 50gb bluray movies in and out of pc, go friend house put in hot swap bay playback and enjoy home theatre.

Last time is take time to transfer. 2-3 movies not so fast.

Now wanna go out then think of transfering 2 to 3 movies then go out. Lol.

And i enjoy gaming with it, especially fps or games like tomb raider. Im moving from 1 place to place activate save point seemlessly without any noticeable saving points. It has come to a point whereby i was wondering whether i got reached checkpoint or not.

Most likely will be bottlenecked to pcie 2.0 x.2. It was like that for my MSI Z97 Mpower. Used silverstone adaptor and i got pcie 3.0 x4 speeds.
