SSD to backup data or HDD

Please recommend me whether I should get a SSD to back up my data or HDD? Any brands or links would be appreciated. Looking at 1TB preferably.

If you have only 1tb of data its better to backup on ssd

For backup purposes, HDD will do.

Suggest you go for 2TB as the price difference from 1TB is quite small.

HDD is the logical choice for backing up due to its lower dollar per gigabyte value and no worry on endurance whereas SSD has got limited write endurance for its memory and is harder to retrieve if it fails

Only go for SSD for backup if you need to access your backup on a frequently and want it to be fast

Burn to a disc for archival or upload to cloud storage if you don't plan to access those data often...

Otherwise HDD>SSD if not portable. Portable SSD is good if you carry your "backup" around due to its lack of moving parts...

I just done mine from 1TB HDD to 1TB SSD...takes me 5hrs...phew...

Been using SSD for 6 to 7 years...its been reliable so shld be fine for me to use it for backup.

Get 1 HDD and 1 ssd

If budget

Get 2 hdd

Actually 1tb HDD and ssd price is very close liao

And also keep 1tb on Google drive

use hdd safer. anything wrong can recover. accidentally delete or reformat can recover. accidentally install windows can recover.

SSD if it fails or you quick format all the data will be gone due to garbage collection

How i manage my backup storage ..
Files such as personal dsta that I need to access frequently... 100GB in google drive ..
Important files, such as all my previous lecturer notes , pic and videos, but doesnt need to access that frequent , storing in both NTU and NUS onedrive , 1TB each
Rest storing in my 2x 12TB hdd drive with redundancy backup
Recently bought SSD , it has longer mtbf life in unit of millions hours thereotically can last for more than tens of years , as long as you write it less than the stipulated TBW
