SSD Upgrade for Macbook Pro

I'm looking to upgrade my macbook pro to a SSD and use the OWC data doubler for the old hdd. any recommendations for which SSD to get?

I used plextor before n always hang. Realized not all ssd are suitable after googling for info. Guess those from macsales should be a safe bet.

Got it at 265.00 SGD around February in Funan. It's the 250GB version. It was a rush so I need to buy it locally. Otherwise I would get it from Amazon just like mostof my other SSDs.

I think this one is sold now around 180 locally. The 120GB should be around 130 SGD.

TS which is yr MacBook model? older MacBooks using nvidia chipsets will have issue with sandforce ssds so make sure u check properly b4 buying. u wouldn't want yr ssd to b running at sata1 speeds.

I am using the 13-inch Mid 2012 version.

I intend to get the refurbished October 2013 MBP 13" with Retina Display from Apple. The default SSD that comes with it is 128GB.

What is the maximum SSD size that it can support? 128GB is a bit too small.

It could be up 1TB maybe. Stock options so far are 128, 256 and 512. I can't remember if you can customize a refurb one - so you maybe stuck with the offered capacity if you get it.

u can check amazon for reviews. I think pretty good. but at e moment only supports up to e early 2013 model cos e later models r using PCIe

then i shall wait and see if there are early 2013 refurbished MBPs for sale.

early 2008? I think u'll need a non-sandforce ssd.
