SSD upgrade for notebook?

Hi,

I was planning to upgrade my Lenovo U430P with an 512GB SSD. Can buy and replace myself? Any recommendations or advise?

FYI I just want to add SSD for the notebook instead of replacing the HDD. I read about mSATA or M2 NGFF slot?!

Not all notebook has msata slot for msata SSD. So safer is to get Hard disk looks alike SSD.
