Yes i understand but u said only the good things. So naturally people will think that u are trying to say ev is perfect or things like that. So it’s like a tesla fan wont say bad things about tesla. Everything is good. Same logic :ROFLMAO: I know u dont have bad intention but other people may not think the same way.

How do you get rid of the used oils then?
It is an offence to just pour it into our drains and/or sewage system and need to be disposed in an approved manner.
Did you just pour them away without a care for the environment/waterways or bring to approved waste disposal?

i dumped them in the waste oil drum outside workshops.

i maintain my own car. i finish the work in as long a time it takes to get to the workshop. and i dont need to deal with the wait, the drama, the doubt.
for me it's due to mechanics omitting some bolts and parts out of convenience. or not replacing o-rings in aircon pipes due to them not stocking such items. or over tightening bolts (less common but rookie mistake)

the most difficult job i did took me 2-3 weeks. i had to remove my steering wheel, gear shift lever, entire dashboard, erp unit and loosen the dashboard subframe to replace the evaporator unit. i changed many things along the way, including dashboard parts that looked old. a stretch of old aircon pipes also had to be changed due to leakage. it's a micro leak. the only way to find out the spot is to pressurize the entire aircon system to about 100psi and listen for hissing sound. very tedious job. very few workshops will be interested

for evs, will only consider when it's cheaper overall and can match honda or toyota reliability over 10 years.

all that talk about emissions, quiet ride, or better acceleration, not important at all.

comparing evs to ice cars using iphone vs nokia, overkill bah, seriously, where got the same leap?

evs still have four wheels, same doors, same aircon. what earth-shaking innovation justifies the hype?
if there's no real game-changing feature, why pay more just to be trendy?
I took a look at sgcarmart sticker prices. The Toyota Corolla Altis (hybrid) goes for $205k. The cheapest Altis (ICE) is $172k. Meanwhile the BYD Atto 3, a SUV ev, is going for $170k. The numbers are close if you go with the cheapest Altis. But once you compare the value for what one is paying for, it is a no brainer. Green performance missing aside, the Altis suffers from a lack of tech features. While the Atto3 has everything from electric ventilated seats, 360 camera, park assist, safety features (lane assist, blind spot monitor, etc, the Altis has none. And once you test drive the Atto3 it is hands down the obvious proposition. There is no comparison. Toyota will have to slash its price. Otherwise I don't see how it can compete. China brands are smart. They know they have a cheap and better product. So their pricing is strategically slightly lower than Toyota 's cheapest. And no wonder they are now number one sales in Spore.

hahaha totally understand. i also dont like the everything chin cai attitude. if the vehicle takes 3.2L of oil, its 3.2, not 3 becos they have done it many times n its ok. and oil level no need check bcos sure correct. bolts n screws lost and anyhow find something to put back.

kudos to your work man. not something i can do.

engine oil level is quite easy. auto transmission oil change takes more time coz i need to go below and manually move the torque converter until the drain port shows up. have to drain transmission oil from 2 locations. and topping up to the right level requires a running engine. 2hrs job for me minimum

It’s no about price and feature when I do my shopping. It’s down to availability of charging stns and how long it takes to pump.

i don't know. it costs me $110 to replace the ATF oil and filter. oil is german oem brand. oil disposal isn't a problem. i can store 20L used oil at home and dispose them at friendly workshops

Please allow me to deviate from the topic, as I’m concerned for some people here.

This thread has many interesting discussions. We know that arrogance (haolian) or envy (sour grapes) are wrong hearts to have. I personally don’t believe holding such values will increase your blessings. It’s better to resist both attitudes.

There are also Christians who are hurting because of disagreements. We must recognize that spiritual warfare exists. If it’s not this test, it’s that trial. Similar to how the human body degrades over time and eventually leads to death. Often, people die from illness; if it not this illness, it is that. To move forward means focusing on how to treat the illness, not brooding over what could have been done better in the past to prevent it. Likewise, in spiritual tests, we should work on doing better in the future rather than dwell on past/current hurts.

top up a bit for elegance variant, 178K and you get all of these:

Active SafetyToyota Safety Sense Pre-Collision System (PCS) Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) Lane Departure Alert (LDA) Automatic High Beams (AHB)

for that price, I know I can drive for 10 years, without opening the hood, just do regular 10K. 40K maintenance

you sure, byd is cheaper(with insurance/road tax/fuel) and more reliable over 10 years ?

hybrid like more 'ex'

for now yes, come 2030 , if pure new ICE is really banned in sinkie land, then hybrid will need to come down to comparable prices?

anyway, open minded about it, just that right now, based on price and reliability, no reason to get a ev, that's all I am saying.
