paiseh. was just sharing my experience because there're like so many people still asking about this despite it being the case for so long already.

ultimately, like what revhappy said, one can just do trial and error and see for him/herself what works, what doesn't.

Just like I am so appalled to see the OCBC 360 thread where people openly talk about having 2 accounts and rotating when they know OCBC staff monitors that thread and answer questions posted there.

The end result is they change 360 so much that 1 of my 360 acct gotten closed for inactiveness, and the other now $0. :(

I am refering to after the change to OCBC360 wef 1 Nov 2018 that makes it more attractive. Yours is the much earlier years ?

My opinion is that it is ok to share. I have learnt alot from people here and grateful for their sharing. Hence I also share as payback.

But if you know from people's sharing or your own trial and error and the bank staff tell you something different please don't try to challenge them to prove that they are wrong.

Ppl are too hard up over that 1-2 bucks monthly that they are afraid of losing from trial and error but have no problems spending over few thousands on a holiday or few hundreds for a restaurant meal...

That's why also always keep got ppl ask whether got fall below fee at kosong dollars... Only 1.6 dollars per mth at 2% interest rate for $1000 also so hard up over it ...

Cc new applications decline usually very different from force closing of all accounts/cards.

They still allow you to keep your cards/accounts?

Oh yes the visa platinum promo for lifetime waiver, think was 15-16 yrs back and cost ~$480 one time fee, which was really expensive compared to the other cards then. Back then in the market they only have classic cards and gold card, which was why when plat card was launched it was quite popular more ever it was marketed on the prestige it brings.

But this one really like a big con job to earn the fee income and after that no improvement in benefits for the card. Along the way as more prestigious cards like visa infinite is launched the platinum become so common, becoming like the old classic cards.

still remember it mentioned i was the selected fews for the platinum card at $500 fee :D, i think many selected fews

Off hand it looks potentially like abnormal transaction pattern which triggers the transaction/account review.

They could be trying to verify if the transactions are in line with your profile, the flow of funds in/outs through your other bank statements/sales purchase agreement or where you say you got your funds from, reason for doing so etc.

Once a bank close all your accounts due to potential compliance reason, it could be much harder to reopen any account.
