Hi, currently the promotional rate for Esaver account is 0.8%. Can I know if customer will entitle for this promotional rate if they are previously invited for the Mar 2022 promotion at 0.55%.

Both promotions are open to anyone with the Esaver account that meets the conditions. However, you would not benefit from the 0.8% promo if you had taken advantage of the 0.55% promo up to 31 May, since the new promo is assessed against May's average daily balance. You have to put in more incremental money to get the 0.8%.

Time to move away from bank deposits into T bills . . With T bills issued twice every month, it’s easy to build a cash equivalent portfolio with your investments maturing every 15 days earning much better returns than bank deposits and also fully secure.

In many jurisdictions, you have unit trust / mutual fund schemes investing in such T bills and hence a great alternative to bank deposits. Here, neither the AMCs nor the robo advisories have given a thought to such a scheme. Really sad.

However, thanks to MAS, we can build our own with zero transaction / management fees.

Agree but just to emphasize T-bill usually held to maturity else if sell on secondary market may lose capital. Also bank deposit is any time can take out whereas T-bill is not, sell may lose but no sell treat it like bank FD 6 months tenure

older (a few years ago) Esaver Exclusive Promotions had a clause in T&Cs stating the higher bonus rate will be awarded (✓verified).

However this clause is not found in the T&Cs of their recent exclusive promotions. So it's unclear whether u will be getting 0.55% or 0.8% :s13:

do you have the tnc for the march promotion? reckon it should say for what months it's running for.

and is 0.55% inclusive of the base interest (0.05%)?

I have participated in the previous "by invitation" eSaver Bonus Interest promo before. It used to be for 12 months but lately they have reduced it to 6 months. In the T&Cs, there is this clause -

" Notwithstanding Clause 4 above, in the event that the bank offers to the Bank’s other customers holding Eligible Account(s), a bonus interest rate higher than Bonus Interest Rate (“Higher Bonus Interest Rate”) for any e$aver bonus interest promotion, indicated on our website as open to all Eligible Account(s) held during the Bonus Interest Earning Period, your Bonus Interest for that month will be computed at such Higher Bonus Interest Rate, subject to these terms."

Which means if you signed up for the promo in Mar 2022 0.55% bonus (likely for months Mar 2022 to Aug 2022), from Jun 2022 onwards, you will be 0.75% bonus instead; all the way till Aug 2022). If they up the bonus rates in Jul 2022, you will also receive the higher bonus int indicated in Jul 2022 promo
