I just received email from SC that I'm invited to their 3.55% promotion until end Sep.

As our valued client, you can earn up to 3.55% p.a. interest on your e$aver balances, from now till 3‌0‌ ‌Se‌ptember‌ ‌20‌23.‌

Simply maintain your account balance to qualify for the promotion!

finally found somewhere to park some of the excess... not as fantastic but better than opening new accounts for 2.5%...

I also saw this email invitation today, would hv been better if they sent on 1 Jul, made me trf here and there, almost want to open SIF acct, luckily never did 😅

"You will earn bonus interest on balances in your eligible e$aver account(s) ending **** for the calendar month when your month end deposit balance is equal or higher than your deposit balance on ‌3‌0 ‌Ju‌ne‌ ‌20‌23."

Correct me if I'm wrong, based on the email, whether one receive the bonus interest has nothing to do with ADB in any month, only month end balance matters. So actually quite a good promo, just need to take note of balance on 30 Jun, and ensure balance is same or higher on last day in next 3 months to enjoy the bonus 😉

the ADB still matters lah... since the bonus is based on the ADB and not the end-month balance. the end-month balance is just to check for eligibility.

assuming HSBC is permanently stopping their BI promo cycles... very few options available moving forward. August will need to shift out from EGA to DBS Multiplier (capped at 100k) + eSaver (remaining).

ADB is for calculation of interest, not for eligibility. They are different matters. I was just referring to eligibility coz the game will be different if eligibility has to depend on ADB in Jun. I will not give a second look at this promo if ADB is used

Best to read ur TnC. If I understand correctly, this invitation is similar to Evemuffins earlier post sometime in early Jun. To qualify for BI, the end of day balance on 31 Jul must be more or equal to your end of day balance on reference day, ie 30 Jun. The ADB for month of Jul will be used for your calculation of BI. BI will be credited by 20th of following month.

yes..that's what the staff called and explained to me as well..

eligibility is based on last day of the month balance. bonus interest is based on ADB if eligible.

No. The bonus 3.35% interest is only on difference in adb. The extra 0.6% from what i see here is given next month with a whole bunch of tnc

In the end, will still get 3.95%, Bonus Interest is just that the 0.6% is credited later.
By right, they can credit the entire 3.95% in the following month.

The TnC did mentioned the below:

The TnC did mentioned the below:

The fact remains the 3.95% interest doesn't include existing balances from prev mth.

3.95%pa of 50k is significant

Did you try tally your May interest with ADB by adding the 2 bonus interest (item 2 and 3)?

Both will add up if you use 3.95% using May ADB.

For me, SC does give me 3.95% using May ADB when I sum 2 and 3.

Item 3 - the amount credited is the difference between 3.95% and 31 May Bonus Interest Payment (item 2).

May Interest
S/No.Interest Date - DescriptionRemarks
131 May - CR InterestThis is Prevailing Interest
231 May - Bonus Interest PaymentThis is Bonus Interest based on Public Rate
328 Jun - Sign-up bonus interest interest for May23 (01 of 7)Invite / Signup Bonus Interest
The amount credited is the difference between 3.95% and 31 May Bonus Interest Payment.

With latest t-bills at 4%,right after mkt put a 90% chance of another hike in US,
esavvy acct holders shdnt be too worried it won’t continue after Aug/Sept
And look likely banks may h to up their fixed depo to match current rate pucture

need to consider if there is demand for loan, if not the banks could afford to run off their FDs and not pay up for esaver too
