I doubt very much it can work this way. Any way I will call the bank tomorrow and if can, I will open another esaver account.

Today, I started fast transferring money from esaver to cimb as money in esaver will be earning normal interest of between 0.1 to 0.25% only. No way I can have incremental savings in esaver over Jan's ADB.

Adding on to my own post, I have just got a negative balance in my xtrasaver account. Thus a negative balance is possible though I do not know if it applies to esaver.

Dk leh this kind of thing... i got real life example but is ocbc. They say only fresh funds can get xyz% for FD. Then my mum take out, add somemore to top up a bit, put back. Tah dah, approved. The bank staff also cant do anything.

it always worked for us...if you went to ask and suddenly it doesn't work anymore...then we know who to blame

We are saying that it works because we had tried it ourselves since dont know how long ago when this clause was already in place. Want to believe or not, up to you ok.

can fast lah, unless your amount is > 7 figures then have to use co or cheque

Think you can open as many esaver as long you can maintain 1k each.

Since many of us knew n tried the trick, it is best not to argue with those who din know n insist that the trick works. Silence is golden. If not, sooner or later once scb decided to be very strict, there goes our extra interest.

sc has sent out smses to some customers for the 1.68% promo to last till jan 2017. they want fresh funds of minimum 100k as of feb 29 2016.

not sure what are the other terms and conditions...like compare to which month adb and what about those with more than 1 esaver acct.

Does it mean after 31 March 2016 (current promo period), same incremental interest will be given till Jan 2017?
What if new bonus rate increase?

cannot transfer back to your original account. have to open another account to play around.
fast transfer can up to 100k.

Isn't the ocbc360 easier? Dont have to keep transferring here and there, and the interest is slightly higher, no?
