buy the cheaper one, some are from same OEM.. pretty sure you will see similarities.

I am also planning to get from mydesk.. got many many customization and option. omnidesk quality is a big disappointment.

I haven't bought from mydesk.

But what is the material of the table top that they are using?
Is it using hard wood or basic MDF wood?
Most are using MDF wood because it's cheap

A few of what is on the market right now seems like using same OEM.

How big is the gap from table to cable management tray (assuming you are getting that add-on)?
Because some of the bigger brands have narrow gap. Thus it's making it hard for squeeze certain extension bar or adapters.

Just my 2cents.

Isn’t this brand Flujo under Convergent?

Apart from Ikea’s standing desks which I am not sure about, the rest are all OEM from the same China manufacturer Zhejiang Jiecang. Mine is an ErgoEdge, i.e. before the rename to Everdesk ... they don’t even change out the label on the motors which state that it is made by Zhejiang Jiecang.

At the end of the day, since all from the same OEM, just buy from the seller with the best aftersales service. I regret buying ErgoEdge ... after name change from ErgoEdge to Everdesk they upped warranty from 3 years to 5 years + another 2 years if you GPGT on social media, but if you bought under the ErgoEdge brand you are stuck with 3 years ... Omnidesk released 2020 model they upped the number of years + social media years, but people who bought the 2018 model given the complimentary upgrade in warranty years less the social media years. I went to ErgoEdge office to ask to buy the knob control instead of the regular long control, they say they don’t sell ... ask to buy spare bolts, they say they don’t sell ... srsly, not even spare bolts?

EDIT: Highlighted “aftersales service”, because aftersales service ≠ warranty length ... if aftersales service £@€#ed up or company wind up after standing desks go out of fashion, give you lifetime warranty also no use.

If I were buying a new standing desk now, if Flujo desks are under Convergent I would buy this brand ... after all Convergent has been around long before standing desks came into fashion, they’d be around long after standing desks go out of fashion.

Most are offering MDF as default because these are part of the OEM’s offering.

Hard wood also must see what kind of wood and how much you’re paying for it ... e.g. Omnidesk has this option for solid Hevea top for a premium ... but Hevea = Rubberwood ... it’s not a bad wood per se, but it’s not a “premium” wood.

Totally agree with you on the "Rubberwood".
Some are too expensive. :(

yeah the wood important..

brand like omnidesk use some lousy wood.. so fragile one. Last time I was fooled by the appearance and marketing.

Basically as long as dual motor + 3-section legs (thickest section must be below, not the other way round) ... the base frame is the same across all brands’ premium or “pro” model ... can go lower and higher than single motor desk’s limits, and can take more weight (120kg vs 60 kg / 80kg).

After that, boils down to which company has better aftersales service + less likely to wind up once standing desks go out of fashion.
