Just came back from a one week family holiday travel in Tokyo.
Only managed to rent the Starlight Express instead of the higher end ones. But the device worked really well throughout the trip. The mifi router provided enough juice for average around 10 hours (powerbank was also provided free in case it is needed) and stay connected to our 5 devices when we were out travel.
It has been a pleasurable trip for my family to know that we could always stay connected (maps, hyperdia, whatsapp, surf net, check email) even when we were in oversea.
Thanks to Stars87 for great service too, especially checking in when we were oversea to ensure that all was working fine :)

Hi fluffy creamy !

For 16-28 April, please book via www.starmifi.com :) will let u know the price there. It's definitely going to get the early bird and long booking discount ;)
But the starlight galaxy promo of $4 per day is ongoing now and I think it's pretty close

Yes ! Price matching is there from 1-11 april. Just ask her to pop by www.starmifi.com

Wah thanks for the quick reply! How to see what promo is ongoing now ahhh? I didn't know about the $4 starlight galaxy one~ Does early bird & long booking discount also apply over the current galaxy promo? hahahahaha!!

Hmmmm, I tried 1-11 April on the website but it shows $35 for starlite? Or the final price will actually show after I make the booking is it?

Hi

Just curious how this full device look like, want to book it for Japan March trip.

Is it like a WIFI?

Are there any limitations to this MIFI, like certain mountain places cannot receive, think no data limit right?

How does discount work?

Also like to know how to collect / return the device, booking is for actual trip day?

Thanks!

Hi fluffy creamy,

Cannot combine the promos unfortunately

Price matching is actually only for the starlight express model.

The final price will be shown when u make a tentative booking :)

Good morning true form,

It's a half palm size, pocket WiFi cube.

Connect to the WiFi network from the cube, and you're good to go :)

No data limit. The network coverage is as per DoCoMo's network. Where are you headed to ? Network coverage in most cities and other areas is pretty solid. In the mountains, its generally location specific

We have the following type of discounts

1) ongoing campaign promotion from time to time

2) long booking discount (>7 days)

3) early booking discount (book 1 or more month in advance. The earlier you book, the bigger your discount)

2 and 3 can be combined together automatically when your booking is confirmed on starmifi.com

We usually deliver to and fro by courier/meetup. Free coffee/beer/drinks and travel planning and assistance if we meetup.

Hope this helps. Unable to reveal discounting structure for commercial reasons but you're always welcome to drop me an email at starmifi@gmail.com

Have one 7 day prepaid card to let go.

Do let me know if anyone is keen to get it.

Exactly the same card that simcardman jp is selling but letting it go at cost price (1980yen, $24)

Worried about losing your mifi router in Japan ? Prone to forgetting and leaving things behind ?

Fear no more.

From just an additional $2 per day, starprotect will ensure no matter what happens, you will still receive

- no mifi loss penalty
- covers next-day delivery of backup mifi
- cover the loss of the backup mifi
- remove any nasty equipment loss or damage worries.

The Japanese always say, daijyobu (it's all OK/good). With starprotect, its always good. here for you, here for good

Starmifi did not ask me to write a review but I feel that the service is truly commendable and thus here is an honest review from me :)
Star MIFI has been patient in answering my queries and incessant questions prior to the trip. He responds fast and is very assuring. Getting the MIFI itself was fuss-free and I received it in good condition. It was complete with travel adaptor, portable charger and cables that you may need. I used the starlight galaxy for my 11 day trip to Japan and shared it with 3 other friends. We travelled to Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara. Throughout the trip, we used the MIFI with no problems at all even on the trains and Shinkansen. It was truly wonderful to be able to stay connected and update our Instagram and use google maps when we needed directions. The connection was fast and the battery life was superb! Justin even picked the Mifi up from me when I arrived at the airport of which I was quite touched.

If you are contemplating to use his service, just do it as I have no regrets and would definitely use his service again.

Thank you Justin:)
