I just realised that my contract seems to have ended.
HomeHub Subscription $64.2991
StarHub TV Basic Tier 3 Basic HD Upsize $5.40 ($6 less Hub club discount)
Home Broadband 1000Mbps fibre Free
Digital Voice Home Free
Mobile Broadband 1GB Free
Total monthly charge inclusive of GST $74.58

I don't watch TV and rarely use the digital voice home line. So these two are not needed. I use the mobile broadband daily for my car HU (although I can possibly do hotspot from my phone or get a $10 line) and it will be good if I can keep it. The home broadband is of course the most essential need.

I tried to recontract StarHub broadband but am confused. The 2Gbps plan seems to be 2 x 1Gbps plan? I am interested in getting the Linksys Velop to improve the WiFi coverage but it seems that StarHub offers that (as Smart WiFi Pro) but at $12 per month? Is that per unit and isn't it cheaper if we just buy it ourselves?

Currently I am on Huawei VeONT > Linksys EA8100-AH > D-Link 8 port Gigabit Switches > hot potch of Apple and other routers and devices.

Any suggestion on which StarHub broadband plan? If possible, I prefer to stick to StarHub as I am comfortable with them.

Don’t need to get 2gbps , unless you are content creator or heavy online gamer . In fact , I would say most people will be more than fine with 500mbps. It’s the international bandwidth that makes a diff , not the local. The former over which all local isp hav no control.
your car still uses a physical sim ? Most cars these days are CarPlay or andriod auto.

Homehub 1G plan is more than sufficient. The smart wifi pro is $12 per month per unit. Buy from Starhub is cheaper. You can always start to learn how to watch Starhub TV. They have Netflix and Disney plus bundle to your plan. You can ask the sale hotline to offer second TV+ pass for free. Now Starhub is using android TV box. Now their Entertainment pass and Asian pass are bundle with Movies channels. News channels are quite good. Can watch movies on Starhub. Quite ok. One Starhub smart wifi pro router already can cover whole condo or HDB unit.

Are you sure? Singtel 1Gbps internet alone already $49.90 and the Singtel TV Family Starter is at least $29.90 and have very little channels. What plan did you sign? I just call up Singtel CSO.

Calling Singtel and talk to SingTel CSO is useless for SingTel TV offers in general. It is better you go down to a Singtel shop to get a better deals for Singtel TV. If you are switching from Starhub Fibre broadband plus TV, you will have the best bargain power.

That price is actually common for SingTel TV Family packs plus SingTel 1Gbps broadband.
1) S$39.9 or S$42.90 per month for 1Gbps, 24 months contract. Some people get S$37.90 per month.
2) 50% off for family packs and free basic box rental . 12 months contract.

For me it is S$11.95 per month for Family Favorite pack. If you go with the Family Starter packs at S$29.90 then it will be S$14.95.

He got one extra 500Mbps mobile broadband. Usually you only got one .

I just hope a new Pay TV service provider will came here to offer us cheap Pay TV plan.

I know that since I have recontracted in 2019/2020.

And there will be no new pay TV vendor like Starhub or SingTel. What you will get is new streaming services like Disney+.

Even Starhub and SingTel are moving to become more like a streaming service providers with Starhub TV+ and SingTel Cast. MediaCorp meWach is also trying to get a piece of the pie.

Yes there is a downgrade fee. It is said to be S$30 as per the following discussion in Starhub Community. I will still say it is worth to pay to get the 500Mbps plan. I am paying S$29.9 per month for Starhub 500Mbps plan and it is good enough for most families.

comfirm plus chop. my Singtel 1Gbps internet $39.90 + singtel TV $11.95 + add on 2 TV ch $2 = $53.85. plus somemore i have combo 3 plan. plus 3 share line 1 main + 3 share line every mth bill is $189 to $199

you need to call starhub and talk to the cso, instead of recontract through internet. They can probably still give you free mobile broadband, you need to ask.

Yes, the 2Gbps is 2x1Gbps - "2Gbps Fibre Broadband comes with 2 dedicated 1Gbps connections"
so, no point, just get the $42.90 1Gbps or the $45.90 1Gbps with disney+

Realistically, I don't think pay TV is the way to go moving forward. That's quite sad for people who cannot learn to navigate the app-based world.

Disney withdrawing all its channels to focus on streaming with Disney+ is just the tip of the iceberg. They're shutting down one by one. If there is no quality content, then we're going to end up paying more for second- and third-tier TV (even second-tier channels are being repackaged to pad streaming services).

I'm still disappointed with Singtel for not replacing that whole slew of channels with equal tier channels as the ones they removed because of Disney's withdrawing. So we're paying the same for so much lesser quality - especially since my dad watches a lot of those channels like Nat Geo, Fox...

For Homehub+ plan, still have Netflix and Disney+ bundled to the plan that can support 4K video streaming but for Netflix must add $4/mth to upgrade to Netflix Premium to support 4K. There is also a BBC Player App bundled. Also got Cinema World Channel. Can Add $1/mth for TVB as an add on channel.

For Homehub 1G or Homehub+ 1G plan there is no need to down grade to 500Mbps because the price for their internet is the same so may as well take 1Gbps. Unless you are just taking the internet alone.

My mother recontract but also never get 50% off. How you manage to get the 50% off? I tried Singtel Cast and it is very laggy and the video can stop while playing. This week my TV+ (First Generation) can not log in and have to wait till the next day then the issue resolved. That is the reason why i prefer Starhub fibre TV.
I cancel my Disney+ to get Movie Pass. Disney+ has very little movies compare to my Starhub Movies pass at $17.90 as an add on to my Homehub 1G (English Entertainment Pass and Asian Entertainment Pass).

Yes, I only took the internet without the TV. TV too expensive considering the channels that they are carrying..
