Hi all

Any idea if issues accessing fb and WhatsApp if using starhub data travel?

Call centre say recently got customer feedback can't access so they cannot commit

I used Data Travel on 3 previous trips to China. No issues whatsoever.

There is no issue, my family members using data roaming plans and able to access to FB, Whatsapp. But if you purchase portable wifi there you need to purchase the VPN data.

Starhub data roaming can access WhatsApp and FB. However, it is still wise to have a VPN handy cos when you use hotel WIFI WhatsApp and FB will be blocked.

do you turn your data off when boarding the plane, then switch on again when you land at china ? or u all the way no off your data ?

I switched it to flight mode. You want to incur data charges while flying?

Just follow the website instructions, very clear and detailed.

In any case, your phone should be switched to flight mode as a minimum or whatever is in accordance with that particular airline you are on.

StarHub Happy Roam we gotta change APN but do you need to if on data travel (per his question) I thought data travel is part of the postpaid plan?

For example I am using M1 data passport plan and I didn’t have to do a thing except to switch on data roaming

I use Starhub postpaid data travel on my trips. You're right - don't need to fiddle with APN settings, just turn on data roaming.
