Hello travelers,

I'm on the verge of jumping from m1 to starhub for my mobile lines, but before I do that, I need feedback from anyone who has used starhub datatravel plan in jippun

How's your experience? And ease of activation or any funny charges incurred?

Coverage and curious to know if starhub has any specific network to tagged into,ie SoftBank, or is it really any network with the strongest reception?

S$15 per 2GB for 30 days does seems like a better deal compared to m1

I used Starhub datatravel plan during my trip back in April and didn't encounter any problem or loss of signal. You can easily activate using the My Starhub App and also keep track of how much data you have used or left in the App.

Both M1 and SH is great in Data roaming recept but package wise SH is cheaper because it don't eat into the Mobile data limit unlike M1

NTT is very fast but there was just a few hours when the reception shows "no signal" even though I was outside in Ginza. Strangely, I can still surf although the speed was 3Gish. Other than this few hours of outage, the rest works well.

Yeah man, earlier on only m1 is providing such convenient data roaming service and am glad to learn that starhub n stinktel is also providing this service now.

Hoping to see those mvno provide the same in future. :D

You can probably go for prepaid instead of jumping everything to Starhub?

For me. Since I'm an existing Starhub mobile subscriber so I just signed up for the Datatravel plan. I didn't want to get another sim card just for data roaming and have to keep switching sim cards.

:D I'm jumping ship not because of the data roaming, but I've been staying with m1 because of data roaming.

Now that other Telco are offering the same service, my options are open and since I'm on sim only plans and starhub seems to offer better value for me needs.

Plus, with sim only plans, there's no loyalty bonus ,bundle bonus etc etc so I figured why not.

:o

imo, if u have high data limit, use M1 is better...

if you using low/mid data caps, get this separate one better

is it right to say :

1. first buy a starhub happy HappyRoam sim $15

2. $15 prepaid sim card have $18 value
so we can use the $18 value to purchase 2.4gb data for 30 days to roam in japan ?
balance $3 no problem right?

like that seem cheaper than renting mifi or buying prepaid JP sim

I have been using Starhub prepaid with data roam for various trips. Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, Myanmar, Malaysia. Very convenient as I can immediately whatsapp or DM AirBnB host or hired driver upon touchdown. It saves the hassle of finding and queuing to buy local sim card.
