so is it safe to conclude, that OpenDNS is more recommended here than the DNS servers assigned by the providers? i would believe that in terms of routing, the ISP provided DNS are the fastest you can reach. question is the quality of their DNS setup/service, not sure if you got doubts on your provider, but I believe OpenDNS specializes in that (DNS setup/service quality).

No for most consumers, stick with the ISP DNS servers. They should give you the best user experience, unless you are like some others whom is interested in DNSSEC.

Since Akamai is one of the most popular CDN globally and used by a lot of sites, and given they did not implement the right feature to support external DNS servers, your best bet is stick with your local ISP DNS servers.

Anybody can recommend a local DNS to use? I'm currently on M1 and it seems that the provided DNS is not responding well.

Another question, can I use across ISPs? So for example I put my primary as M1 and the secondary as Starhub?

i can get this problem even when tethering with my iPhone...

what's happening? IE cache?
