You can download the Giga App on your phone and check regularly on behalf for your mum, assuming she doesn't know how to.

But if she is IT literate, then she can check the usage for herself.
Thanks, I got the app on my phone but not on hers. First time encounter this issue, initially thought the SIM card spoiled and asked for a replacement. :s22:

My mum's SIM card couldn't make phone calls, can receive and call through Whatsapp.

Contacted Giga, end up is just her 100 call minutes all used up. :s13: Any way I can make it so that I get notification when my call time finish?

obviously she needs a call plan than data plan. u should switch her line to MR lite $100 that comes with 300 mins talktime and 300 sms. haha.

Oh, that looks good. I'll KIV the plan, will monitor her usage see how, keep swapping plans a bit mafan. From M1 to Giga $25 plan to $10 plan. :s22:

Edit: Just saw that new signups for MR are using M1 plan which I was hoping to avoid, cause I find M1 telco signal quite weak. :(

Simply add 100 mins to her plan via add on when she run out of talktime; $1 per 100 mins as I recalled.

How about Vivifi lite which uses Singtel ? $8.80 with 500 min talktime and 3 GB data ?

Kind of like SH network more than M1, but with MR having unlimited throttled, more mins sms, MR Talk app, and to a lesser extent VOLTE, hard to justify a switch for me.

If it was 8GB and with slightly more minutes, would be more of a no brainer.

Good thing about giga promo is extended to existing user, unlike gomo. So no need to port out and jump back, which is waste time and ridiculous.

Just now I went to the giga website to register and see what is the delivery date. Looks like so far the next day delivery slot is still available.

If I want to activate the plan on the 1st of the month, I dun need to register so fast rite? I just need to do so roughly on the 20th to 25th of the month can already rite? :o

For giga, it is only activated after you pop in the simcard. As long as you don't insert giga sim card (either temp number or new number), the billng cycle won't start

Is it activated immediately after inserting the sim card and turning on the phone? What is the minimum lead time required?

I wish to time the activation to exactly 0000 hours of the 1st of the month, as I heard that the billing and data cycle are both linked to the activation date down to the time also.

No need exactly 0000. Just in case their server time might not be exactly the same as your time. Had experience before my company's server time was 5 min behind my time.

I activate on 1st of the month at 1.43am, every renewal is 1st of the month at 1.43am. Better to activate during sleeping hours.

Haha I also have this kind of obsession.

You can use their app to activate. After receiving the card, you could see an 'activate' button in their app. After clicking, your card will be activated immediately, so just click at 0000 on the first day of the month.

I want to time it as close to 0000 hours as possible.

It is not obsession, but my old phone cannot set the data cycle day, so I can only try to set the activation cycle such that it is at 0000 hours on the 1st of the month lor.

So can I confirm that must tap "activate" in the app to activate? So putting in the sim card will not activate the plan yet?

I'm not sure what will happen if you insert the sim card before activating in app, since I've done the activation in app first.
