I was travelling onboard NSL from AMK to Dhoby Ghaut at around 10 plus in the morning yesterday.
Coincidentally I was doing a cell signal test inside the train with an app, Network Cell Info.
Testing on 2 MVNO and 1 telco, GIGA is one of them which is my current primary line.
No signal loss for GIGA at that time along the way, which shows good signal reception continuously.

Got to test data continuity, not signal. Otherwise M1 wouldn’t be known as the airplane mode telco.

My perception is that no signal is equivalent to no service.

I bought 2 sets of giga roam at 50% off at $2.50. Have not used yet. Intend to use one this week and another next week. So this week once I switch to malaysia telco, it’s considered activated. I would still have one more activation left for next week right? Is there any specific telco to use in Malaysia?

Assuming you bought 2 sets of giga roam separately, it will be consolidated as 2GB and once you reached Malaysia, this 2GB will be activated for 5 days usage.
As for the telco to use in Malaysia, it will be auto detect and select, no manual seletion required through my experiences.

Initially I had the same thinking like you.
Eventually after realizing the true fact, thereafter, if promotion arises, I will just buy one first and if insufficient along the way then purchase.

No need to take it too hard, next time around if there is a promotion and you have the needs, just buy only one lor!.

Is it just for that particular day?, if yes, then maybe some minor tech glitch occured at that point of time.

I have recently ported back to GIGA after testing out 1 telco and another MVNO.
Both the telco and MVNO cell signals reception are pretty weak at my home.
However GIGA cell signal reception is good and stable at my home.
So I am retaining GIGA as of now till I find some other provider with good reception, also at affordable price and with satisfying perks.

Based on giga website it’s the $18 plan. Imo still ex compared to zym/vivifi 100GB for $10 plan.
