To those who has switched from the DLink VoIP phone line back to the cable modem VeCM. Do you still get Caller ID for free?

caller id should be free whether it's residential, business or mobile lines!

most types of phones nowadays come with a display. it's a norm. unlike those days where u hv to hv a separate device for caller id.

consumers should push communication ministry to push the telcos.

Homeplugs are pretty stable and reliable for me. No connection drops.

anyway, I have a pair of homeplug for sale. Aztech HL280E. Below is the screenshot of my speedtest using the homeplug on MIF100.

Bridge it? Don't know how to do it. If it invovle me getting more items then its not worth it.

all you need is another router. check starhub community website, they got alot of posts there about this.

I actually dun mind whether be it 100Mbps or 150Mbps... just would like to minimise the money spent.

Yes our family has cable tv too, together with a few StarHub mobile lines... that's why thinking of subscribing together under the Home Hubbing Pack.

Do u mean that if I just get fibre separately I can save $5? How does it work? Do u have the link to the MaxInfinity Elite promo that u mentioned?

sorry for the slow reply

StarHub - Broadband - Home Broadband

under Maxfinity elite

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
anyway i got a question:
My old set up under normal broadband is
Surfboard modem > Dir-655 > PC/NAS with DDNS
My new setup is this: ONT > DVG-N5402SP > DIR 655 > PC/NAS with DDNS
I wana keep the settings on my DIR 655 and everything else that is connected with it (hassle free)
Everything works, except that the DDNS/accessing my NAS from outside of my home network, doesn't work. I have already forwarded the port in the DVG-N5402SP router using the virtual server page, to the IP of my DIR 655. Did DMZ to the IP of my DIR655 also. Still doesn't work, anyone can advice or point to a page in this thread? tried reading through, but didn't come across (might have missed it)
Or should i just connect in this manner:
ONT > DVG-N5402SP > NAS with DDNS / DIR 655 > PC etc
U probably need to bridge it... as for how need to ask the fellows here, cos I have never touched Fibre equipment before. :o
Anyway, according to the offer, I feel that it might still be better if I subscribe to Home Hubbing Pack, cos I just want a basic Fibre subscription... dun mind really 100mbps or 150mbps. If I get the $49.90 Elite and add $26, already exceed the $71 of the Hubbing Pack. Not to mention, Hubbing Pack also adds mobile broadband bundle.
On top of the 49.90, my reconstract for cable also got discount, which is why it's cheaper by a few dollars. Just ask them check for all promos and compare before you sign up lor :)
I removed my dir655 already and forward the port to my nas, my ddns still not working from the Internet hai
I got $10 off the $26
Update on my DDNS situation:
I can forward ports for the DVG-N5402SP. My NAS also detects that the ports are forwarded correctly. However, accessing my NAS using the DDNS website still can't work, no idea why. Sharing files via hotlinks (NAS function) gives correct URL also but also can't work.
Seems like although the ports are forwarded correctly, I'm still unable to get past the router :s22:
that's probably because the router doesn;t support NAT loopback. if it doesnt support then use ur NAS hostname/ip to access it
