May be some one can suggest SH to offer $29/mth for 10 Gbps internet. Ahh ahh then all jump over from 500 mbps or 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps Internet. Possible or not?

I would prefer someone suggest Starhub to lower the pricing for 5Gbps to maybe S$24.95 etc. 5Gbps more than enough for me.

both of you can be the someone and write in.

Hello, that's too broad a question. From your history, let's assumed it's a StarHub recontract.

For my upgrade from HomeHub+ 1Gbps to 5Gbps:
Like xiaofan, there was no need for a NetLink Trust appointment and the same Fibre Termination Point (FTP) port was used. Internet was still up when the trooper arrived and downtime was minimal.

LAN downtime was several minutes to perform the aforementioned tasks. Once done, LAN and basic Wi-Fi were up. From there, the trooper proceeded with a series of speed tests and a checklist.

If your order includes a Digital Voice Home phone line, it will take an extra hour to provision. Similarly, extra equipments (e.g. access points, StarHub TV+ devices) and thorough Wi-Fi configuration suggest extra downtime.
Thank you for your reply. I am a starhub homehub+ user. Thank you also to Xiaofan

Same thing happened to me 2 years back. I shared my experience a few pages back.

Not just once but twice I got cancelled/stood up. Zero service recovery.

Ya this time the trooper came. If appointment doesn't appear in your app then high chance not scheduled.
This depends. New customer nothing will show in the app (like me).

Lucky I called to confirmed beforehand and they did came at appt time.

So I renewed my contract with the 10Gbps promo @ $33.95 with free Nokia 140-A ONT and HB 710.
So far all seems okay but have issue to connect to my Dreame robot even after i seperate the 2.4GHz from the 5GHz.

In the end have to connect my old asus router to the HB 710 and connect the Dreame to asus 2.4GHz.

Check the supported encyption type supported by the Dreame (WPA2/3 etc) for 2.4GHz or just set WPA2-Personal (WPA2-PSK AES) only on the HB710 and try.

Yes, it is in sealed box. You can ask the trooper not to install the router.

You will still need to ask him for the SpeedTest Result to make sure the installation is okay. Make sure he is using the new fibre patch cord too for the new XGS-ONT. Or if you prefer, keep using the old Fibre Patch Cord but ask him to pass the new Fibre patch cord to you.

If you have capable test device, you may also want to check the speed.

If you have your own router ready, you can check the speed as well by installing the router yourself after the trooper installed the new ONT and carried out the speedtest.

I prefer a cheaper 2Gbps internet as my wifi router WAN port is only 2.5Gbps and my wifi speed hardly goes above 1.2Gbps per device.

I will pick plan with "2Gbps available for $25/mth" over "10Gbps for $30/mth" as i hardly need higher speed

That is provided that no one work from home with wifi 6e laptop. free router provided. 2 Gbps internet cost more. You mentioned your speed seldom go beyond 1.2 Gbps per device because you are on 2.5G but once upgraded will be different. Most company laptops are wifi 6e or better. Now heard that Singapore sports hub also installing wifi 7 AP for public use so old wifi may be outdated.

Thanks for sharing. I just recontract to Homehub+ Ultraspeed 5gbps also, installation next sunday.

Just to check, is it a must to use the new fibre patch cord to enjoy the benefit of higher speed cause some section of my existing cable is hidden behind wall, don't know want to change or not.
Saw my old cable have some number G652D and seems that it can support higher speeds from google.

Also like to check, is the 1 x HB-710 that comes with the package sufficient for a HDB 4 room flat?

As always, thank you!
