2722555, as long as you deadlift with good form, your hunched back should get better rather than worse since deadlifts strengthen your back and core.

i used to deadlift, pretty light, around 60kg, then someone come over and tell me im not doing it properly.. ahaha, stop doing it since then

Hmm, Monday was my last training day and this is my break week. If this thread is still up the week after, I'll post my updated statistics if I happen to test my new 1RMs.

Problem is, I don't barbell bench at all. The only exercise where I use the Olympic barbell for benching is for wide grip neck presses. I also use a narrow squat stance, even for zercher squats.

Anyway, These are mine from when I was 86kg.

45 Degree Incline Dumbbell Bench Press: 30kg x 5 reps

Close Stance, Ass to Grass, Back Squat: 120kg x 4 reps

Conventional Deadlift: 170kg x 1 rep (Missed 180kg)

Been training for less than a year and a half.

It's only Wednesday but I feel like pumping iron again. :)

Nice numbers ultimatesg, Twxian and Majestic12. Damn, just when I thought I got the 2nd place for top DL by BW, you come and snatch it away from me :p

This thread will definitely be up. Even if it's a few pages down, just update me with your numbers and I'll bump it up again.

Erm gala, if I use Smith Machine for BP, counted anot?

If counted, tomorrow I try for my first :)

I suppose the weight is only the weights that we mount on right? Not inclusive of bar?

Nice lifts Geo. I've added them to the list, as well as my own updated stats...slowly but surely... :)

Thank you very much esp for the exrx.net link, is extremely useful :) The trainers in my gym find me less of a nuisance nowdays becoz I stopped nagging them abt what exercise techniques to use :D

May I suggest adding the following links to the sticky " A Beginner's Guide To Bodybuilding ( Newbies Pls Read!!!)":

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm

http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

And amend the name of stick to "A Beginner's Guide To Bodybuilding ( Newbies Pls Read!!!) (Now Includes Exercise Guides!!!)"

I didn't realize you were a newbie Geo. Those are very impressive numbers if you've just started lifting. How long have you been lifting?

Thanks for encouragement. I started in 1998 but i stopped in 2001. I resumed last year around Oct. I was lifting blindly w/o researching the proper techniques and nutrition. I am not ashamed to admit that I achieved no growth btw 1998 to Feb 2006. My bench press has stagnated @ 50kg for all these years. As such, you can consider a newbie :)

Till Feb 06 this year then I realized my mistakes and I corrected them. My bench press increased to current 65kg and most imptly, I gain a fair amt of mass. I also saw you mentioning deadlift in one of thread I participated in so I decided to turn it into a main exercise rather than sub exercise around 2 mths ago.

The biggest mistake I made was not doing legs. My advice to the newbies is die die must do legs (pardon my singlish). Not working yr legs is like shooting in the dark, u r wasting yr energy. Dont make the same mistake like me.

One more thing, quit all the bad habits like smoking, drinking, sleeping late. They affect yr growth and strength big time :D . Though occasional drinking is still okay :)

I wouldn't say that you can't grow if you don't train your legs, per sey. The first 15kg I gained, I didn't train my legs at all as they were already of reasonable size due to my previous focus on long distance running. This partially depends on the individual's genetics. My legs grow reasonably fast but I personally believe that my back sucks.

But of course, I recommend that everyone train their legs, the sooner, the better, if only for proportion's sake. :)

My case is different, i didn't even do running since my ROD becoz I am excused from running due to injury (Though squat is not a problem nowadays =:p ) and I guess I dont hv the genetics too.

Anyway, i strongly believe that leg exercises are anabolic.

But a warning to those who are about to start doing their legs: Make sure you do proper warm up and cool down. Increase yr poundage gradually. Or else u will end up having problem walking for the rest of the week. The scenario: The 1st 1/2 of the week, u will be afraid of going up the stairs and the 2nd 1/2 of the week, you will be afraid of going down the stairs. The is my exp :D

It's fun as hell when as you walk down the steps, you have to control your movement because your muscles ache. :)
