WTF I WANT TO DUNK TOO!

damn i want to impress my basketball playing brother.. how to do it?

Unless you are tall or very naturally elastic (high calves, black dude) you will need at least a 2x bw back squat and dl to have a chance, and then you need some speed work with o-lifts/plyos to maximize that strength.

MY techinque is not good enough so i don't full snatch...
Hehe, can always drop by SWF for some tips from our Coach :p

Dunk? Aren't we supposed to dive for a good snatch? :p
You need both. Explosive power from triple extension to propel the barbell as high as possible, and a quick duck to get under the bar fast enough before it descends too much.

I was referencing the female anatomy.

Carry on.

Bench: 2 x 105

- shot for 3 reps, failed at last rep. Or rather didnt even try haha.

1.5bw bench, finally.

105 is 42.5 per side? ...how u shoot up so fast? :s22::s22:

btw how do u know when r u ready to progress to add weights?

when u where 37.5 per side, how many reps u could do before u move to 40kg?

right now i m at 37.5 kg per side for 1 n 1/2 rep... the 1/2 rep because i dont dare to lower down .. with spotter i can go to 2 n 1/2 rep.... at 37.5 i m feeling abit nervous liao..

i dono if 40 can do anot just for a rep lol, i dont even dare to try :s13::s13:

Generally, when I can do 4-5 reps pretty fast, I know I can go up 2.5kg and possibly muscle up a rep loh.
Den before gg in, psyche urself up abit loh.

The recent slightly quicker progress is only cos I too impatient, decided to move to triples. Previously benching was always in sets of 5, while squats I do sets of 3, or 5, or 8 tops.
Was benching 95 for 5 pretty ok, so can see that 97.5 for one is conceivable.

Liddat loh haha.

It could be psychological but I find that triples work best for my bench. Once Once I can hit 4 reps with a particular weight I up the weight the next session but sometimes it takes me weeks or months to get the fourth rep though. The problem with growing older I guess.

So female lifters do jerks and male lifters love snatches?

Male lifters jerk too, a LOT especially when they are young, still developing and during selecting training periods of their female lifter companions.

Male lifters love doing the snatch but not as much as the female lifter does.

Mayb I should start my own thread or sth. With videos for form check and stuff like tt.

Leg day, did squats and stepups.
Anw, tried my hand at push presses today. Legs dip abit, leg drive, press overhead. Right?

Did in singles, before my ohp sets. Managed to do 60kg pretty easily, so slapped on 7.5kg, thinkin of getting a bw push press. Epic fail tho lol.

Reply to "cowed77" on Post #1337,

I suggest you start your own thread as well. This way, you can record your progress too, post video for form check etc etc etc...

I have a 160x 2 squat and 190 dl at 80kg. So what are the plyos I can do?

My turn :D

Bodyweight: 56kg~

Deadlifts(Approx 3weeks ago? 1 RPM): 105kg
Bench Press(1RPM): 80kg
Squats(1RPM): 90kg

Edited:
Just did a test of 1 RPM squats
I think i could have done maybe 92.5 or 95kg if i didn't do the 5 working sets of squats earlier.
